Exposing Seventh Day Adventists

Welcome to Truth Time, where you'll get a shot of the truth with no chaser.

And now your Truth Time host, Trey Searcy.
Ruth has a question concerning the Seventh-day Adventist religion.
Well, we'll get to the biblical evidence that exposes the wrongfulness of Sabbath-day worship in just a few moments.
But first, I would like to address religion in general.
Religion discourages independent thought.
It's divisive and dangerous.
This delusional groupthink mentality produces cookie-cutter plastic people and has nothing to do with the Acts 20:24 gospel of the grace of God.
Religion suppresses and it manipulates the minds of the weak.
It's a dumbing down that encourages you to only look to others for truth.
Well, truth is in the Word of God.
Yeah, that book on the coffee table.
What possible reason do certain individuals have in suppressing the truth?
Well, how about money, power, and prestige for a start?
The reason many in the religious system don't want you to know how to rightly divide the Word of Truth is, that it tends to bring down their religious house of straw.
It makes cracks in their walls of bondage.
And hey, once the walls fall, the light comes in.
And once the light comes in, they're exposed, and you're set free.
There are many critics and opposers, critics of those who are willing to sort through some things and penetrate centuries of historical distortion, therefore bringing back original truth.
You know, at one time in history, religious leaders in their ignorance persecuted anyone who dared teach that the world was anything but flat.
Thousands of years before men like Columbus set out to completely disprove the erroneous traditionally held view that the world was flat, truth had already been written in Scripture and was readily available for anyone to see.
Yeah, it, it was there on the pages all along.
So why didn't the religious leaders see it?
Because religion blinds you from the truth.
After Galileo decoded the physical laws of the universe that God had set in motion, here come along those pesky little religious leaders to do what they do best.
They persecuted him, charging him with heresy.
These religious leaders somehow looked right past the truth and down the hallway of their own darkened ignorance.
If they would have only done their research and actually studied this book they claimed to be their final authority, they would have found that this declarative truth was right there in the book all along.
There's absolutely no excuse.
Romans 1:20, listen to the book, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."
So you see, there's no excuse.
These things are clearly seen.
Here at Truth Time we're driven to discover and deliver diagnostic insights and information that will help you to understand your Bible, helping you to make the distinction between traditional error and biblical truth, the distinction between religious blindness and biblical clarity.
There's one principle that has helped me greatly in the understanding of God's Word.
Paul calls it rightly dividing the word of truth.
It's also known today as the law of non-contradiction.
Anyone that does not use the law of non-contradiction during their Bible study will become a thoroughly confused individual whose thought life is a complete mess.
As a result, their Bible discussions will continue to be full of contradictions and inconsistencies.
The law of non-contradiction simply says that two opposites cannot both be right at the same time.
For example, let's say the subject is salvation.
Salvation cannot depend upon you keeping the commandments, which is a work and it's what Christ said in Matthew 19 prior to His death, while at the same time say that salvation is by faith alone, without works, which is what Paul said in several places on the other side of the cross.
You see, the question cannot be the same while the answer is different.
The answer can't be different if the question's the same.
That defies logic.
That defies the law of non-contradiction.
You don't have to be smart to get this.
How do I know?
Because I get it.
And most of you, well, no, let me change that.
All of you, every one of you gets this.
So really, the question is not whether or not you understand that two opposites cannot both be true at the same time.
No, the better question is, can you change?
Can you put off your tradition and become a discerner of truth?
Will you remove your religious blinders and become a workman instead of a parrot?
I've been at this for more than 25 years now and I can tell you with all certainty that most people simply parrot what they've heard without investigating anything for themselves.
So and so says it, so it must be true.
Sound beliefs, thoughts, and knowledge are built on top of the law of non-contradiction.
Your belief system is flawed and your Bible won't work unless you rightly divide the Word of Truth.
It's just that simple.
Comparing Scripture with Scripture and seeing the differences, recognizing the distinctions will clean up the mess.
Point your browser to truthtimeradio.com today and check out the compare the verses link.
There you'll find biblical data that will greatly help you to begin to see some of the distinctions God has placed in His Word.
I'd like to tell you about the strangest secret in the world.
Some years ago, the late Nobel Prize winning Dr. Albert Schweitzer was being interviewed in London, and a reporter asked him, Doctor, what's wrong with men today?
And the great doctor was silent a moment and then he said, "Men simply don't think."
And here we are back with more Truth Time.
I'm Trey Searcy.
Well, speaking of questions, Ruth Ellen, a new Truth Time listener from Hudson, New Hampshire,
and a former Seventh-day Adventist, she asked if I would teach on the subject of Sabbath day worship.
She goes on here to say that she also heard on numerous occasions that attending church on Sunday is what the Bible is referring to as taking the mark of the beast.
And she says, "I'm learning much in my pursuit to completely rid myself of the Seventh-day doctrine, but it's not easy, and it looks like I may have a long road ahead. I enjoy your program and visit your site frequently. I have friends that are still under the Ellen G. White spell, so I sent them the information on how they can listen to your internet lessons."
Okay, let me begin by saying that no Seventh-day Adventist that I've ever known, and I've known
a few, keep the Sabbath day holy.
Not a one.
Oh, they claim to, and they do keep it holy according to the watered down new standards that they've come up with.
To actually keep the Sabbath day holy, the children of Israel were not even allowed to cause a spark on the Sabbath day.
That would mean not lighting a fire or a lantern, and so still today that would mean no fire, no lantern, nor would you even be permitted to flip on a light switch.
Why?
Because that would of course cause a spark.
You would not be allowed to start your vehicle, which also causes a spark.
And by the way, to keep the Sabbath holy, you're not even supposed to leave your property in the first place.
Seventh-dayers on the so-called Saturday Sabbath start their engines, which is a direct violation of the law.
They go to church where someone in the congregation has not only flipped on a light switch or two, but has also turned on the central heat and air unit.
And again, this will cause a spark and is in direct violation of the law.
I tell you what, some of these so-called reverends, if given the chance, would mess up a recipe for Kool-Aid.
To find the truth, we must compare scripture with scripture and not preacher to preacher.
Hey, consider this.
Prior to the law, we can find where they were instructed on the use of altars in Genesis 8.
They were instructed regarding offerings in Genesis 4.
We find circumcision in Genesis 14.
We even see priestly instruction in Genesis 14.
But nowhere do we find any scriptural evidence for Sabbath-day keeping.
Sabbath-day keeping was only later implemented in the law books of Moses.
Leviticus 23, listen to the book.
Verse 1, "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying," verse 2, "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them Concerning the feast of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts."
Verse 3, "Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings."
Verse 14, "And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings."
Verse 15, "And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering ; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:"
Verse 16, "Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD."
Now let's stop right there and use simple logic.
Ask yourself this, How many seventh-day Sabbatarians do I know that do all of this we just read?
Yeah, I hear you loud and clear, none, zero, zilch, so why would anyone call themselves a seventh-day Adventist when they're really not?
Let's read on.
Verse 21, "And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations."
Now what was those last three words?
"Throughout your generations."
Ah, hang on to those three words and let's drop down to verse 31.
Verse 31, "Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever..."
Now watch this, don't miss it.
"...throughout your generations in all your dwellings."
Now, I would challenge anyone to just simply get your concordance.
Look up the phrase, "Throughout your generations."
In the King James Bible, that phrase appears 13 times.
In every case, it's found in the Old Testament.
Not once do we find that phraseology in the New Testament.
And guess what?
In every usage of the phrase, it refers to Biblical Israel, tribal people.
Not to be confused with the nation Israel today.
Why?
Because we currently live in the Ephesians 3:2 dispensation of God's grace.
And there is no Exodus 19, verse 6, kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
There is no longer a 1 Peter 2:9, chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.
You see, some of you will read the books of Peter as if it's doctrine to you.
When in fact, Peter is just keeping right in line with the writings of Moses, the law giver.
Who did God instruct Moses to give the law to?
The nation Israel.
The nation, not nations with an s, plural, but the nation, no s, singular, the nation Israel.
Sabbath day keeping has nothing whatsoever, nothing at all to do with any of the Gentile churches of the nations, plural, not one of the churches that Paul wrote to.
Getting this is vital to your Biblical understanding.
Ordinances, laws and statues, special washings, ceremonies and feast days, dietary laws and so on.
Hey, they were always for the singular nation of Biblical Israel.
Neither Noah nor Abraham would have possibly been a Sabbath day keeper unless the Bible is unreliable.
Sabbath day keeping was exclusively for Biblical Israel while under the law.
And we know this because we can read.
Deuteronomy chapter 5, verse 1, "And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them."
Verse 2, "The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb."
Verse 3, "The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us
here alive this day."
If the Sabbath day was for the Gentiles, then why is the Sabbath a sign to remind Israel of their exodus out of Egypt?
Exodus 31, verse 16, "Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant."
Verse 17, "It is a sign between me and the children of Israel..."
Now that's as plain as a clear sunny sky in August.
And look at Exodus 13, verse 8, "And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt."
Folks, these things we're reading about between God and Israel were done for a memorial, a sign.
Look at the verse again.
He is telling these fathers to do what?
"Shew thy son that this is done for a sign that God delivered us out of Egypt."
That was Israel's miraculous exodus, not yours.
What does the word exodus mean?
A mass departure, a journey by a large group to escape from a hostile environment.
Who is the book of Exodus written to?
The children of Israel who were in bondage prior to being led out of Egypt.
Were seventh-day Adventist ever in bondage in the land of Egypt?
Where in the Bible or history books might I find that?
And while on the subject of Exodus signs, look in Exodus chapter 4 and drop in at verse
6.
Here we have God speaking to Moses, verse 6, "And the Lord said furthermore unto him, Put now thy hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow."
Verse 7, "And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh."
Now, I have a question for any of our brown or black-skinned seventh-day Adventist listening today.
When have you ever had this experience?
When did God tell you to do this?
When did you put your hand under your jacket, then take it out, and saw where God had turned your skin white?
Huh?
And then God proceeded to tell you to put your hand back into your jacket once again, and when you pulled it out the second time, he had turned it back into its original color.
Just when has this happened to you?
You see, the answer, of course, is never.
And that should be your sign that these signs are not written to you today.
And that should be the same answer that you would give if someone asked you, "When are
we to keep the Sabbath day holy?"
Your response?
"Never."
This was never an instruction to the church.
It was never an instruction to anyone other than this biblical generation of the children of Israel who were delivered by God out of Egypt.
The time of sign, gifts, miracles, and wonders are over.
God has spoken in His Word and given us everything necessary for life.
We have our sign.
We have our miracle.
It's the very spoken words from our God.
We don't need a certain day to remind us of our exodus out of the land of Egypt when we were never in bondage there in the first place.
Stop stealing Israel's covenants.
Stop going to Israel's law books and reading them as if they were written to you.
Under covenant, the children of Israel were to keep the Sabbath day holy and if they disobeyed, they were to be killed.
Exodus 31:15, "Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death."
How much clearer can it be?
Numbers 15:32-36, "And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him inward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses."
Now, when we rightly divide the word of truth, we in fact see something very different for today.
Under grace, there's no longer any certain religious days that serve as being any different than another.
No longer can someone judge any one day to be any holier than the other.
Colossians 2:16, "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"
Galatians 4:10 and 11, "Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain."
Question.
For the so-called sabbath day keepers, I must ask, "Where are all the bodies?"
You claim this was written to you, we just read Exodus 31:15, "If anyone's found doing work on the sabbath day, he should be stoned to death."
You claim this was written to you, so again, where are all the bodies?
I once had a listener tell me that the Ten Commandments remain but the book of the law was abolished.
To which I said, "Then why did God put two copies of the Ten Commandments in the book of the law? One in the twentieth chapter of the book of Exodus, and one in the fifth chapter of Deuteronomy."
The Seventh-Day Adventists are so confused that they forbid eating pork which is permitted.
1 Timothy 4:4.
The practice tithing, which is prohibited.
2 Corinthians 9:7.
And, they claim to keep the Sabbath Day holy, even though it was abolished and nailed to the cross.
Colossians 2:14-16.
That is mass confusion.
We here at Truth Time will continue to stand against religion.
There has only been one God-ordained religion in the history of mankind.
It was the religious relationship that God had, not still has, but had with the called out children of Israel.
It was a religion that operated from the "if" system.
A covenant contract between God and Israel.
God often said, "If."
"If you will do this, then I will do this."
Ellen G. White is the inspired prophet to the Seventh-Day Adventists.
Well, Ellen G. White said that all women should wear the same girdle as she wore.
It has to be made by the same company.
Huh, does that sound familiar?
Mormons also claim to have some kind of special underwear.
And by the way, I wonder if Ellen received some sort of kickback from the girdle company.
She also taught that if you wore a wig, you would go crazy.
The false prophet, Ellen G. White, also said that Jesus would return to earth in 1845.
For any Seventh-Day Adventist listening, listen very closely.
If you're trusting in sabbath day worship to save you, you're sitting right square in the middle of the law.
On this side of the cross and according to the revelation of the mystery given to our Apostle Paul, what does the Bible say about the law?
Galatians 3 verse 10, "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse:"
Sabbath day keeping has placed you under the curse.
And now, chapter 5 verse 4, "Christ has become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; Ye are fallen from grace."
Folks who trust in Sabbath day keeping for salvation are Galatians 3:10 under the curse, and Galatians 5:4 has now declared that Christ has become of no effect unto you.
Ye are fallen from grace.
Jesus is my Sabbath and I am entered into his rest.
I'm trusting in the finished crosswork of Christ.
And when Jesus said, "It is finished," I'm quite certain he meant just that.
Those who have not entered into this rest are going about to establish their own righteousness.
Which is of their own works and not the righteousness which is now by faith.
Faith alone in Christ alone.
The Seventh-Day Adventist church is built on a false prophet.
And that is an irrefutable fact.
Ellen G. White made claims stating that she had visions and revelations from the Lord, but those so-called visions and revelations have since been discovered to be copied right out of the book of Mormon.
The Seventh-Dayers are much like the Mormon church.
You've seen the Mormon church ads.
They protray themselves to be such happy and pleasant people.
Ya', well I'll tell you what.
Go to Utah.
There you'll find a very high suicide rate.
They're not that happy, but they are masters of P.R.
And few Seventh-Day adventists even know that the Seventh-Day sabbath worship is not original or exclusive to them.
Ellen actually hijacked that one from the Seventh-Day Baptist denomination.
It's time you faced the facts.
You Seventh-Dayers have a false prophetess, and she prophesied that Great Britain would conquer the United States during the Civil War.
She prophesied that the North would lose the war.
She also said that the tower of Babel was built before the Flood.
The doctrine of faith alone in Christ alone is often impuned by the religious legalistic egomaniacs.
And those of us who teach the Acts 20:24 gospel of the grace of God are often denigraded by those same people.
However, despite the efforts of the grace detractors, many are awakening.
Many are gravitating to the message of God's grace.
They're coming to the knowledge of the truth, and waking up to the fact that we currently live in the Ephesians 3:2 dispensation of the grace of God.
Now, having tasted the sweet nectar of grace and liberty, they'll never again be gratified by drinking from the cup of legalistic bondage.
Someone once said, "If you shut up truth and bury it under the ground, it will but grow and gather unto itself such explosive power, that the day i tbursts through, it will blow up everything in its way."
It's past time that many of you dig in your heels and be a bit more sedacious.
A bit more discerning and study these things out for yourself.
I'm Trey Searcy, and now, you know the truth.
