Religion vs Paul's Gospel

The following is brought to you by TruthTimeRadio.com
Have you ever asked yourself how it is that God is not imputing our sins against us?
How is he able to do that?
How is God able to not impute our sin against us?
Because he imputed them upon his Son.
He alone bore all your sin, past, present, and future, prior to you even being born.
Forgiveness is done, finished, complete.
He's not asking you to confess anything to get his forgiveness.
He's asking you to take him at his word and believe what he has already done for you.
The thing that continues to blind many from seeing this clear Bible truth is their religion.
If you're saved and someone were to ask you, what religion are you?
Your answer should be, I have no religion.
The word religion comes from the root word, religio, which means to bind back.
Most all world religions are systems devised by man in their own vain attempt to bind back mankind to God.
Think of the word, religio, for a moment.
Now, leave off the re and you have ligio.
Now think of the word ligament, ligio, ligament.
In anatomy, a ligament is fibrous tissue that connects bones to other bones, connective tissue that connects bone to bone to form a joint.
Ligaments stabilize the joints.
Think of it as man and God having a joint relationship.
So religion, religio, is likened to a ligament, and is to bind back mankind to God to form a joint relationship.
Now, there has only been one God-ordained religion.
It was the religious system that God had, not has, but had, with the children of Israel under the law.
God has since sent Jesus Christ to religio, to form a ligament, to bind back mankind unto himself through the death of his son Jesus Christ.
Now, in the Ephesians 3:2 dispensation of the grace of God, we have no need for a religious system to bind back mankind to God.
Why?
Because God through Christ has completed his plan to restore the broken relationship between himself and all humanity.
So, Christ completed the work and there is nothing left for anyone to do.
Jesus kept the law perfectly.
He was born under the law, circumcised on the eighth day, was water baptized, abstained from pork, kept the Sabbath days holy, etc. etc.
Your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did all the work necessary for a lost soul to be saved.
Now, we are saved by believing, having faith in what he did on our behalf.
The consequence of a broken ligament can result in instability of the joint, just as the consequence of a broken religious relationship with God was instability for the children of Israel.
However, we who are saved on this side of the cross according to the revelation of the mystery that was revealed to Paul, have no such consequence.
We are in Christ.
Paul in Romans 8:15-17 says this, For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but we have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry Abba, Father.
So, it's clear that we have no fear.
No fear of being broken off from God.
Therefore we have no need for religio, no need to be bound back to him, because we're never apart from him.
Verse 16, The spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we're the children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.
Did you catch that?
We're joint heirs with him, not apart, but joined.
And then we drop down to verse 38 and 39 where we read, For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So, if absolutely nothing can separate us from God, then what need do we have for religion?
What need would we have to be bound back to a God that we can never be separated from?
Oh, this is good news.
Paul said, By the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Now that'll kick your prop right out from under you, huh?
Many use their own works for props.
Many use 1 John 1:9 like a bar of soap.
And by the way, Galatians 2:9 will tell you who John wrote his letters to, and you're nowhere in the picture.
Paul said that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 4:16, Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?
