Church of the DO vs Church of the DONE

I know there's many that are still plugged into the religious machine and they're not ready to unplug, but if you are, Truth Time Radio is for you.
You know, this morning I was thinking about two types of people on earth today, only two.
Those who put their faith in Jesus, and those who don't.
We really make it more complicated than it is.
There's no more, no less, only these two groups.
And there are only two sets of beliefs today among professing believers.
Those with the belief of do, and those with the belief of done.
Now listen carefully.
This may be the most important question you'll be asked all day.
Which of the two groups do you belong to?
You see, there are many who will be quick to say, Oh, Trey, I'm in the group that puts their faith in Jesus.
But then later tonight, they'll lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, confessing their sins and asking forgiveness.
Then your faith's not in Jesus.
It's in yourself.
It's as if you and Jesus got something worked out and you're a co-savior.
You see, you're really not in that group.
You're a bona fide member of the those who don't.
You belong to the church of the do.
Concerning salvation, it's done.
There's nothing left to do.
Now if you've yet to believe that, you're lost.
The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, there in Matthew chapter 7 verses 13 and 14, said, Enter into the straight gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many choose to go that way. But you see, straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life. Only a few will find it.
Now this was before Christ died for the sins of humanity, and at that time he was teaching the gospel of the kingdom.
He was offering the lost sheep of the house of Israel, everlasting life on earth.
Not heaven, like he later reveals to us through Paul, but everlasting life on earth.
And you know what?
Just a remnant handful found that everlasting life Christ was offering.
All the rest rejected the earthly kingdom gospel he preached.
Well, history has a way of repeating itself, and this is exactly what we see happening today.
That kingdom gospel that Christ preached was first, Israel needed to believe that he was their Messiah, and secondly, do works to prove it.
Do works to prove their belief.
But only a few entered at that straight gate.
Most chose the broad way that led to their destruction, their everlasting death.
This is why James wrote to the twelve tribes scattered abroad that faith without works is dead.
But oh my, thank God for his long suffering.
He later had a gospel that was far better to offer to us.
You see, fortunately for us, we came in on the other side of the cross, after he shed his blood for all sins.
And now, through the apostle Paul, he made known a mystery, something that was hid and kept secret from Satan.
And it's not the kingdom gospel that Jesus preached before the cross to Israel, but rather the gospel of grace that Paul preached after the cross to us.
And it's this gospel that declares that we first believe that Christ died for our every sin and rose from the grave to justify us, and secondly, we do nothing to prove it.
Christ out of his great mercy and love proved it for us, and now we're saved by faith.
We don't work to be saved, we work because we are saved.
Our salvation is by faith in the finished cross work alone, and totally apart and independent from any of our works.
Praise God, that's good news.
But you know what?
Just as it was then, it is now.
Only a few will enter into that faith alone without works straight gate.
Most are choosing the broad way of faith plus works to prove their salvation that only leads
to their destruction, their everlasting death.
