Wrong thinking will oppress.
Truth Time wants to assist you in developing right thinking.
Right thinking will go hand in hand and, and be contemporaneous with learning to rightly divide the word of truth.
Truth Time Radio, you're on the air.
Yeah, uh, well, the thing that is on my mind is how people may spiritualize politics based on the information they have.
You have to have all the information.
And to me, you know, they're basing the information on candidates' decisions in life, and they don't have all the information.
And you can't make a truthful judgment or a right judgment or a right decision without all the information.
It's going to be a one-sided thing.
And, like in your program, you know, teaching to dispensational teachings, you start to look at how people are basing their decisions.
Using Old Testament teachings, things that don't even apply now, to today, which, if they think they're gaining favor with God, or they're getting somewhere with a creator, I don't think they're going to be the Creator's fan by playing that.
So, I'm just, I'm just curious about the fact that a question to be asked.
I mean, somebody could rise to themselves.
If they're basing their vote on values, they say vote values now.
What are your values?
You know, do we want to live in a country that is based on religious law, or do we want to live in a country that's based on our constitution, and in the preamble of the constitution works as every man kind of does what he wants to do guided by his own light as long as he's not hurting somebody else.
So, that's a scary thought to me.
Well, you're raising some good points and back to what you're speaking about, about religion and being under the law.
I don't know how often you listen to the program, but we, we here at Truth Time will bring up the fact that we are not living in the days of Israel's rise.
When Gentile nations came to God through them, we're living in the time of Israel's fall.
And you can compare those verses by going to Isaiah chapter 60, reading the first three verses, right there, you'll see at the time of Israel's rise, how the Gentiles come to thy light through Israel's rise, and you can compare that with Romans chapter 11 verse 11, and you can see where Israel fell.
And it's through their fall that salvation has come unto the Gentiles.
So, we've got two different programs, and if you remember back in Deuteronomy chapter 28, I'm looking it up here, along about verse 10, okay, here we go, verse 13, it says, And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
So, this is obviously Israel and their program with God under law where he was making them the head and not the tail.
And I think people today are mixing this program up and claiming that America is this Israel that God is speaking to here in this covenant relationship that he had with them, and thinking that we're the head and not the tail because of our good deeds under the law.
Right, right.
I think that's a dangerous way to think about things.
If we, if we, I think if we travel that route, and if all the people of this country followed that mindset and believing man applied to us now, we'd be no different than the Muslims over there.
Where's your error with that with their extreme laws?
I mean, this would be a nation headed by a religious doctrine and belief system.
I mean, that we would have no more freedom.
So, I think to keep the two separate plus and my own personal belief and the way you read the Book is you keep it in context.
You look at who it's written to, when it was written, uh, all these things Christ fulfilled the law, and that we're in a new program right now that we're in the age of grace.
And it's, it's none of these things apply now, and they never applied to us to start with, and they'll never start applying to us.
So, I just kind of, it just amazes me again to hear how people are manipulated politically into thinking that we have this favor, and we really don't.
I mean, I mean, if people can pray hurricanes in another direction and all this kind of stuff, I say more power to them, I want to see them do it.
Yeah, don't hold your breath.
Right.
Living in the dispensation of grace, you're going to have to do some rightly dividing when it comes to looking at God's word of truth, and that's what we as a nation have failed to do.
Most of our religious teachers and preachers on television and radio preach a blended program.
There is no division.
That's what causes people to divide, is the fact that they don't rightly divide the word of truth.
Exactly, and I mean, I don't know, you know, it's just people bottled themselves up into all kinds of bondage.
The apostle Paul warned us about that.
As far as the consequences for doing that, he talked about that anybody who does mix this stuff, the law with the grace, and he says let him be a accursed, he mentioned it twice.
And if you bring the law into the grace program, and you start believing that, and our salvation is based on believing the finished work of Christ, he says we've fallen from grace.
That we put ourselves there.
So, that's, that's, that's dangerous territory to be walking around.
And I think that if they want to tread that way, then I'm saying the people that are doing that don't believe the Bible to start with because if they did believe the Bible, they would be scared to death to do it.
Well, Paul says in Galatians over there in chapter 5 to stand fast in that liberty.
And that liberty has been supplied to us by Christ.
He's the one that made us free.
Yes, I don't want to see us go back and live in days like when things were going on in Salem, you know, when they were burning witches at the stake.
Personally, you know, I look down, I think about God, I think about the Creator, and it's such a big thing, I can't comprehend it.
But I just don't, I believe he's left us up to our own little devices down here.
We can spiritualize all these bad things that are going on and the good things are going on, and it's nothing but, he's given us a mind and a choice.
He said celebrate your liberty, your freedom.
And then he, another powerful thing said Paul said all things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient.
So, he's free.
Being under the law does, does nothing but stir up sin.
Oh, yeah.
I just can't see anybody wanting to, to move into a doctrine of bondage.
And I think it's a good thing what you're doing.
Well, it makes more sense to the flesh.
That's the thing, you see.
The flesh wants to do something in front of others.
Flesh will always point you back to yourself.
And it's only when you find the gospel of the grace of God and you can actually put your, your 100% faith in someone else.
I mean, you think about that.
People have trust issues.
People have grown up and had terrible things happen to them in relationships with their father, their mother, maybe in their love life, in a relationship.
And they have trust issues.
So, now here comes you along, and you're going to tell them, Hey, trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation.
It has nothing to do with what you do, just trust in him.
So, now someone with a trust issue may have a problem with that.
Yeah.
So, that's what we're faced with when we as ambassadors for Christ, try to convey this message of grace.
Well, you know, freedom itself.
Paul says that, We're free.
We're free, we're free, we're free.
Well, the slaves were told they were free and some of them walked out to about the end of the driveway and turned around and came back.
Exactly, because freedom, with freedom comes some personal responsibility. You're going to have to make some choices of what you're going to do with the time that is given to you.
And then it's easier to let somebody else make the decision.
So, I mean, I think that really and truly, you know, it's like you say, it's kind of a cop out when you want to go the other way, and that way you don't have to take any responsibility yourself, and Paul does put the responsibility on you.
So, with that comes that choice.
And the only thing I know about that choice, I mean to me personally, the only thing I know I can do, I believe and I trust.
I don't have to, I'm for years and years, I ran around here feeling like, you know, telling people I was a prayer warrior.
This, that, and the other you know.
My gosh, I don't know how to pray, and I'm not a prayer warrior, I mean, that was an ego thing.
Aren't you thankful that the spirit makes intercession for us because we know not what to pray for?
No, we don't know what to do.
And the thing about it is that all goes back to this ego thing.
And it goes back to wanting to be in control.
While we're here, we have a Book of God's word.
And it's true from one end of the Book to the other.
We can take great comfort in that to know that we have, you know, someone asked me not long ago, do I believe that God intervenes?
Does God still intervene?
And I said, well, you have this Book right here.
If that's not the greatest intervention, then we have his word written down in the holy scriptures and preserved throughout all these years for you and I to come and have something that we can look at and use as a basis of truth.
Exactly.
And another wonderful thing.
I've lived through my life I've been involved in different doctrines of belief, and I've stepped in different areas, but today, and I can say thanks to you, to the truth being revealed, to being able to take a look at the information from another angle that you present, well, I read the Bible today and now I don't find myself condemned.
If I start reading the mail which was written back in the Old Testament and start thinking it's my mail and it's written to me, I'm feeling bad all the time, every time I pick that Book up.
But I can read the Book today and I find it refreshing.
I find it, that I know that I'm free.
I know that Christ died for my sins.
My life now is not, it's not a sin problem that I have, it's just a living problem.
We're not going to be judged by the law.
Well, and you said too, you were referring back to the Old Testament, but we can come to the New Testament where Peter in Acts chapter 10 says, In every nation, he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is accepted with him.
So, it's not just the Old Testament, it's this mystery information that was revealed to and through our Apostle Paul that actually gives us the full liberty and sets us completely free.
Exactly.
It says God hath reconciled all things unto himself.
Both in heaven, on earth, under the earth things visible and invisible, and made peace through the cross.
Ye who were alienated in your mind by wicked works he hath now reconciled.
That's where this liberty, that's where this freedom, that's where it all begins is in the mind.
It's the mind.
You know, the sad part of this, and unfortunately, and I lived there, that I was living in a, a life of, of fear and guilt and worry and anxiety and believing some of the teachings that some of these preachers will come across with well, that hurricane hit down there in Louisiana on the count of the gay parade, you know, and that's just not true.
Right.
That hurricane hit down there because the laws of nature, but what God set up is always going to work, and it's going to keep working.
He's already set it up, and we got to live here.
That hurricane hit because of a result of a sin cursed earth.
Well, yeah.
Period.
It's nothing that we did.
It happened a long time ago.
We're just here.
Well, you see one thing tradition does not teach is that, once you stop trying to save yourself by completely placing your faith in Christ to save you, at that very moment, God no longer sees you from that time forward, he sees you as he sees his Son.
You're made complete in Christ, Colossians 2:10.
Exactly.
Christ went to the cross of Calvary, died for all, not part some or most, but all of your sins, was buried and rose again to justify you, and it's Christ alone for my salvation.
Yeah, we were warned by Paul to stay away from the traditions of men old wives tales, (right, right), superstitions.
You know, a lot of people live there.
I lived there for a long time, and my analogy of my own situation is just like, uh, I feel like I've been down the yellow brick road.
You know, I believed it.
And, and when you believe something, it's real to you.
But when you get to the end of the yellow brick road, and you get the word rightly divided, then, you're not afraid anymore.
That's a good place to be, huh?
I think so.
You can rest.
Absolutely.
You can be at, you can be at peace, you can rest.
And that's, that was the intention, God to take away the fear of death. People were afraid.
We don't have to be afraid.
It's only then when you realize that the focus is then at that time, taken off of yourself and your own personal salvation and your own personal needs, and now, you can begin to let him live in and through you and minister to others by giving them this gospel of the grace of God.
Exactly.
When you think about the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was picked up in a, in a tornado and a whirlwind and it was a dream.
It wasn't real.
But she believed it.
And the characters in the play believed it.
And belief was the magic that brought in all the torment, the fear, all the anxiety, but once they got to the end of the yellow brick road, and everything was rightly divided and discerned, she woke up and realized, hey, all this stuff that I've been worrying about, it's just not real.
That's a good analogy.
And that's the way I look at my past religious experiences and beliefs, that it just wasn't real.
It's real to those that believe it, guaranteed.
So, how do you deal with it?
You have to go down the yellow brick road to get there.
The only way you're going to get to the end of a yellow brick road when you rightly divide the word of truth, study to show thyself approved, then, you can rest.
This gospel of the grace of God says no matter how many good deeds you do, they will not help your salvation.
This gospel of the grace of God says your salvation is by works, but it's just not your works.
Yeah, exactly.
Another thing, Trey, when you get to that point of rightly dividing and understanding, you can rest on this issue of salvation of God and what's going on with God concerning mankind, and you look at the world, nothing's going to, that subjects, you can find peace there, but that doesn't mean you're not going to have trouble.
I mean, if you're born, if you're on planet earth, you're going to go through what happens on planet earth until you're off of planet earth.
So, and you can't, I mean, I blamed God for troubles.
You know, I used to get mad at God about it.
That's through that conditioning of religion.
Yeah, but see, you know, that's, it's gone.
It just went away.
It's like waking up from a dream.
So, I just think what you're doing is great, and I hope you continue it.
I'm getting this to across to people in a way, present it, to where they can understand.
Yes, sir, and we must remember that you cannot buy a gift.
Yeah.
Salvation is a gift.
We all know what gifts are.
We have birthdays that roll around every year.
And you would offend someone if you tried to pay for a gift.
That gift is given out of love.
God gave salvation to us, out of love, and you cannot buy a gift.
You can only believe that it was purchased for you.
People are attempting to co-purchase their salvation.
They treat salvation as if Jesus said, Hey, I'll put some money down if you'll make the monthly payments.
That's not salvation, that's probation.
Exactly.
Be thankful for the freedom and the liberty that we have and go, and go and serve and do and be awake, aware, alive, and active.
Yeah, and you were talking about ego earlier.
You know, once you, once you get this, some for some reason, some magical way, I don't understand it, but that ego starts to kind of diminish.
It doesn't, it doesn't, it's not all about, (oh yeah), it's not all about us anymore.
Right.
We start thinking about the other person.
That narcissistic personality starts to diminish.
Right.
Folks that suffer from that have an excessive interest in themselves and crave admiration.
And, so they desire to have their ego fed and is why salvation by faith plus something they can do, something they can offer, actually sounds much more appealing than this gospel of the grace of God that you and I are discussing.
Exactly.
Exactly.
The gratitude you have towards the Creator who gave you a free gift of your soul's salvation, then, if you can latch on to that, you're going to do the right thing.
Well, you know, one of the obstacles to get over is to show people with their Bible that Paul is saying something different.
That the Lord Jesus Christ did indeed reveal mystery information, unsearchable riches.
And you know, if you think about a cloud, a watermelon, and a starfish.
Now all three of those consist of about 98% water, but they're clearly not the same.
So, so, when you have like the Galatians 2 verse 7, gospel of the uncircumcision, and then you have the gospel of the circumcision, well, they're different.
Oh, exactly.
They're not the same.
Now, is certain aspects of what Peter said the same as Paul?
Absolutely.
They're in harmony with some of what Paul said.
It's not the similarities.
What do we do with the differences?
That is where rightly dividing the word of truth comes in.
Well, God did the same thing that we've done down here.
We've had laws on the books that we've changed.
And we don't, the other, those laws were true at the time they were written.
But those laws were enforced back years and years ago, but those laws are not enforced today.
It's different.
Thanks for your call, sir.
I certainly enjoyed talking to you, Trey.

The old man turned off the radio and said, Where did all of the old songs go? Kids sure play funny music these days, they play it in the strangest ways. Said it looks to me like they've all gone wild. It was peaceful back when I was a child. Well, man could it be that the girls and boys are trying to be heard above your noise? And the lonely voice of youth cries, what is truth?
