What Prayer Can Save Me? | Sinners Prayer?

A listener screenshot a card and sent it to us.
It was left on their table at a local restaurant where they were dining.
It had a big smiley face and said, Jesus loves you.
Okay, so far, so good.
But under that, it said, Pray this simple prayer.
Lord, I know I'm a sinner and ask that you please forgive me of my sins.
I now invite Jesus to come into my heart and life.
Not one person has or ever will be saved by seein' that card and prayin' that prayer.
No prayer can save you.
Scripture's clear that you cannot be saved by works, and prayer is work.
Colossians 4:12, Paul writes, Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring (what's that Paul? Always laboring, working) fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
Prayer is a work.
Prayer is a work, but the Bible says, Not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, Titus 3:5.
Prayer can't save.
Prayer won't save an unsaved person, but is something a saved person should do.
It's something we should devote ourselves to, Colossians chapter 4 verse 2,
we're instructed to pray that God would open a door of utterance so that we may speak the mystery of Christ.
That's prayer, that's a work.
It's a prayer work with hopes that God would open up a door of utterance for us to speak to people about Christ.
Not a prayer that we should pray to get saved, we already are.
Praying is for saved people, but can't save people.
Get that.
Praying is for saved people, but can't save people.
Ephesians 1:13 makes it clear as to how a person is saved.
They hear the gospel, then they believe the gospel.
At that time, the Holy Spirit seals them unto the day of redemption.
No chance of losing their salvation.
God stopped imputing sins because Jesus died for them all.
They buried him, but he rose on the third day to give anyone who will believe it, eternal life in him.
My friend, if you've yet to do so, trust him today.
