Listener: Hi Trey, As a young Christian I’m confused , If your saying we can’t have any expectation of god helping us out today, just wondering does that mean Satan isn’t active today either ? Why would Satan stop being Satan and if Gods not helping us out today how are we meant protect ourselves against the evil works of The devil? Surely he didn’t just leave us helpless against Satan and is sitting up in heaven watching Satan go around attacking his people. ? Thank you
TTR: Great question! Satan did not "stop being Satan". He is most definitely "active" and currently "the god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4)
God has never stopped being God, and if you are saved it is impossible for Him to leave you. (Ephesians 1:13, 4:30)
Actually we should have the HIGHEST expectations of God helping us today. For WE, unlike those in "time past" have God's completed word. We don't have to "see through a glass, darkly;" for we have Paul's revelation "face to face:" no longer "in part;" (1 Cor. 13:12)
So the question is not IS God helping us? But HOW is God helping us?

With "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" (Ephesians 6:17)
His word is where we find our instructions and marching orders for how to battle "the evil works of the devil". Understanding that the battle is spiritual, not physical, is critical!
God "didn't just leave us helpless" but has equipped with everything we need for this spiritual battle in His word. The problem is not many USE it, and most of the ones that do, don't know HOW to use it.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
