Listener: Hey Trey, I've been posting a lot of things on my Facebook explaining how Christ forgave the whole world of sins and I barely get any likes or replies. However, I made a post explaining atrocious sins that man takes pleasure in today and how this needs to be resisted, and received an explosion of likes and comments.
I talk about Christ having finished everything at the cross and no one wants to talk about it. I talked about how God hates sin and suddenly everybody jumps on the bandwagon.
People really do cherry pick what they want to hear from the Bible and it's truly outrageous.
TTR: Yes they do, and yes it is. Religion has failed them! Their warped view is a result of having never been taught about the finality of what Christ accomplished at Calvary. They are enemies of the cross and don't even know it. (Philippians 3:18)
They have substituted what they do/believe for forgiveness, in place of the shed blood of Christ, and continue to resist the truth. (2 Timothy 3:8)
Beware of the Limited Forgiveness groups out there. They are in ALL denominations and have even crept in to some "grace camps".
They preach Limited Forgiveness by saying it is only for those who Do/Believe something.
Paul said that he preached Christ crucified, a stumblingblock to many THEN, and as we are seeing, it remains a "stumblingblock" even to this day.
They sing about the blood and what it did to sin, but really don't believe what they sing.
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Today there is nothing required for "forgiveness of sins:", it's a past-tense done deal!
No one can add to what the shed blood finished! Inserting self effort for forgiveness only demonstrates a LACK of faith.
God hates sin so much that no prayer is enough to earn forgiveness. No amount of belief is enough either. There had to be a death - blood shed!
Because unconditional forgiveness is free, most want nothing to do with it. Put a price tag on it and watch the masses flock to it. All because of their lust to get some of the credit.
Sadly, in this world of almost 8 billion souls, the majority have still yet to hear the good news in its unperverted-purest-form.
What they're hearing is that you must do/believe something to get forgiveness. This is a false message that only makes false converts. And when the false convert is asked, "How did you get your sins forgiven?" Their response is, "I" - followed by something they DID/BELIEVED. The correct response is, "Christ" - followed by DIED for my sins.
Limited Forgiveness is a counterfeit that poisons the gospel by inserting SELF in to the equation.
You can spot those who lack finished cross work understanding from a mile away. They are always talking about how to get your sins forgiven, when in reality, getting sins forgiven is an impossibility. Paul said that because of what God accomplished through Christ, there are no longer any sins to FORGIVE.
The bible couldn't have made it clearer. Watch closely:
"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:19)
"not imputing".
If sins are not imputed - there are no sins to forgive.
