The Religion of Me

Have you noticed the dramatic decline in sound biblical teaching today?

*We've gone from theology to therapy. 

*From facts to feelings.                        

*From a message that saves to a message that motivates.

The new message of the day is one that centers around SELF. When the truth is no longer OBJECTIVE but SUBJECTIVE, you might have fallen for the *Religion of Me*. It is the most popular religion of today and is based on subjective-ism.

When we have no absolutes, we'll be shaken by every wind of doctrine and open to every new preacher-gimmick that comes along. When we start measuring truth by our feelings, we soon become unstable in our ways. Truth is not meant to be looked at through our own subjective lenses.

Dr. Phil likes to say "Perception is reality". WRONG! Reality is reality. Perception is only how you SEE reality.

The reason many like to participate in Religion instead of Classic-Christianity, is that real Christianity is based off absolute truth. Today's *Religion of Me* is based off what you THINK and FEEL about it.

Religion teaches it's cohorts to tweak and wrest the scriptures, instead of facing them head-on by rightly dividing. This is done so that God's word might fit better inside the preconceived box that man has created in his mind. A box constructed by man-centered ideas that come from the group think mentality. (Just follow the herd)

The *Religion of Me* says to TRUST your heart. LISTEN to you heart. FOLLOW your heart. But God says trust ME. Listen to ME. Follow ME.  

And where IS he? In his WORD. Is his word still being written? No. It was completed in the first century.  

No need to look for a bed-side visit from an angel to give you a heavenly message. No need for a preacher or "prophet" to give you a word from the Lord. -You already HAVE it! God's completed word has been written and preserved for you in a book called the Bible.  

Now go read it.
