Hi! This is brother Scott with another Truth Time, Look in the Book!
Today I begin a new series entitled, “Bible Key Words and Meanings A to Z.”
The first installment begins with… you guessed it… the letter, “A.”
Let’s get started.
The first word representing the letter “A” is:
Ambassador
(2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV)
(20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
In this dispensation of Grace, the church which is His body is not comprised of priests, but rather ambassadors. Our Apostle Paul never called us priests.
(Colossians 1:18 KJV)
(18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
As members of the body of Christ we are his physical representation as ambassadors in this world.
(Ephesians 6:20 KJV)
(20) For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Paul referred to himself as an ambassador, and he also said in 2 Timothy 2:7 “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.”
So, just think of it: When you believe and trust in the gospel that saves today in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, you become an actual ambassador for Jesus Christ himself!
His physical representative!
And Christ’s ambassadors are a peculiar people who are zealous of good works, not in order to be saved, but because we are saved.
(Titus 2:14 KJV)
(14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
God is doing a mighty work through His ambassadors!
Now is the day of salvation as we read in 2 Corinthians 6:2.
You can become an ambassador for Jesus Christ today, if you so choose!
