Is The Body Of Christ, Spiritual Israel?

Listener: I have attended a Baptist church since age 19 but had begun to question some of their doctrine. Finding you has been a God send! You have helped to clear up many things that I questioned. The way you lay it out is so plain. Thank you for that. My question is what do you say to those who say we "the body of Christ" are spiritual Israel?

TTR: Prove it!

The fact that the bible uses no such term as "spiritual Israel" should be our first red flag. Neither the term OR concept is supported with Gods word. A thorough search of the books of Romans through Philemon, will reveal that no Gentile after believing Paul's gospel, was ever said to have crossed-over and suddenly became a "spiritual Jew".

Frankly speaking, those making the "spiritual Israel" claim are thieves. They go to scripture and take Israel's promises and covenant's (old and new) and wrongly apply them to "the church, Which is his body". They have missed Paul's "preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery," (Romans 16:25)

If they are "spiritual Israel" how do they explain Galatians 3:28? "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

If there is "neither" "nor" then we simply cannot be "spiritual Israel".

How do they explain the 2 Corinthians 5:17 "new creature"? "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

The body of Christ is either a "new creature" or "spiritual Israel" - but we cannot be both.

They apparently missed the eleventh chapter of the book of Romans.
If they are "spiritual Israel" they have spiritually fallen. (Romans 11:11)
If they are "spiritual Israel" they are castaway's and presently have no hope. (Romans 11:15)
If they are "spiritual Israel" they are broken off due to their unbelief. (Romans 11:20)
If they are "spiritual Israel" then "God hath concluded them all in unbelief". (Romans 11:32)
Those who make such claims "have eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear". (Romans 11:8)

They spiritualize and tell spiritual-lies, they cant see the truth cause they don't have spiritual-eyes.

Listener: I am very thankful to have come across your program on our local station here in Jackson. I noticed you do not have any information on your website on how to financially support your ministry. We want to support you so please let us know how to do so. Many thanks!

TTR: We never ask for money - never have never will - but thank you anyway! What we do ask is that you pray for us and continue to search the scriptures for yourselves, proving all things and holding fast to that which is good.
