Listener: A coworker sent me your program concerning spiritual gifts, and I am sorry to say that I do not agree. You are denying God's supernatural manifestations for today.
TTR: Some have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:5) The power for today is not found in "supernatural manifestations" but in the preaching of the cross. (Romans 1:16)
Listener: You are also neglecting the power of sin by talking to much about grace.
TTR: Sir, where sin abounds, grace abounds even more. (Romans 5:20) Grace freed us. Not free to sin, but free to SERVE. i.e. grace is the greater motivator!
Listener: You are failing to tell your listeners how their sin will condemn them to an eternal hell fire. Saved or not, sin can cause you to loose your salvation.
TTR: There is now therefore no condemnation that can be brought against those who are in the church which is his body. (Romans 8:1) I want my listeners to know that they have NOT received the spirit of bondage or fear; but the Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15).
So I ask you, just who is he that dare to condemn us? (Romans 8:34) The self righteous religious legalists need to wake up and recognize that there is nothing or NO-ONE that can ever separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:39)
After hearing the gospel and believing the gospel, it is at that moment we are sealed with the holy Spirit of promise. (Ephesians 1:13) And our salvation is untouchable because the seal will last unto the day of redemption. (Ephesians 4:30)
Listener: Are you not aware that we are to repent and be water baptized for the remission of our sins?
TTR: I'm well aware that baptism with water was mandatory in "time past" for the nation Israel. And I'm just as aware that Paul tells US (the church the body of Christ) that today there is only "one baptism" necessary for salvation (Ephesians 4:5).
What is the "one baptism" Paul speaks of? Is it water? Absolutely not. Baptism no longer has anything to do with water. Under the current grace-administration, the method of baptism has changed. It is now by one "Spirit", not a preacher, that I'm baptized into one "body", not a tub of water. (1 Corinthians 12:13).
Listener: I don't hear you speaking of the material and physical blessings that God promised us.
TTR: Your words reveal that you do not rightly divide the word of truth. Having yet to recognize that Israel's promises are not OUR promises. Today we have been given far greater promises than they were.
WE have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:3)
WE are complete in Christ. (Colossians 2:10)
Listener: Nor do I hear you telling others how to get their sins forgiven.
TTR: You are correct! Our sins are not even being imputed. Perhaps you missed 2 Corinthians 5:19. To wit God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;
Now that you've seen the evidence with your own eyes, please inform me as to how God can forgive sins that are not even being imputed?
Listener: If we don't put in the work to perfect our performance we could likely miss heaven or miss our blessings. My pastor has been teaching us how to gain favor with the Lord by simply being still and listening for his voice. Learning this has put me on shouting ground!
TTR: Today we can be confident that the Holy Spirit is our performer. It is HE who begun a good work in us and promised to do all our performing until the day of Jesus Christ: (Philippians 1:6)
Now THAT should put you on "shouting ground!"
