Listener: I heard your teaching about God is not counting our sins against us. Does that mean you believe we can live any ole way and still go to heaven? I believe we must live right to be saved.
TTR: Anyone who has studied the writings of Paul, should know that he teaches AGAINST sin and FOR right living. But in not one place does he teach that sins are still being imputed to our account. In fact, if God is still imputing sins to us, we are in BIG trouble! Because Paul never told us how to get them forgiven. 🤔
He declared Christ death for forgiveness of the worlds sins as being a past-tense FACT, and not a future HOPE. He tells us that we ARE forgiven, but not how to GET forgiven.
Years ago I did a program titled, 'If Living Right Saves You, Then No One Is Saved.' That in no way means I am not for LIVING RIGHT. What it DOES mean is I am not for living right as a MEANS for our salvation. We should not try to live right to BE saved, we should try to live right because we ARE saved.
You see, that my friend is the subtlety of Satan and his world-wide religion. That ONE small detail -- that one small change to God's perfect word will keep BILLIONS out of heaven. It reminds me of the tactic he used in the Garden, and is why Paul wrote, But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
This is why I tell people, Truth Time is not here to only expose the difference between what's wrong and what's right, but to expose the difference between what's wrong and ALMOST right. (Satan is subtle)
Don't be ignorant and attempt to establish your own righteousness, (Romans 10:3) but be wise and rest in Christ and His finished cross-work and resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven - it's believing they already ARE!
